The event, which is set to take place on July 5, will see the band’s most famous line-up – frontman Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Heather Butler and drummer Bill Ward – play together for the first time in two decades. It will be held at Villa Park in their hometown of Birmingham.
Back to the Beginning
Iommi and Sharon Osbourne, the iconic frontman’s manager and wife, have announced the news of the final live show, titled “Back to the Beginning.” In addition to the metal pioneers performing in their classic lineup, the event will also feature numerous performances by other icons of the scene.
This includes sets from thrash metal legends Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, as well as other heavy metal acts such as Pantera, Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Alice In Chains, Halestorm and recent Grammy winner Gojira. Rage Against The Machine frontman and former guitarist Tom Morello will also appear at the event and serve as musical director. In a new statement, he called the upcoming concert the biggest heavy metal show in history.
